Impact of MV distribution grid reconfiguration on active power losses
Main Article Content
Abstract
Dynamic development of smart grids enables the use of controllable switches to change the MV distribution grid configuration. The paper discusses the impact of the MV distribution system reconfiguration on the active power losses with consideration of daily load variation. Based on the 33-node IEEE distribution system modified by the author, the problem of selecting the appropriate algorithm sensitivity was presented, and a methodology for selecting the MV distribution grid operation configuration in the 24-hour cycle was proposed. The objective function is the minimum active power losses. The tests were carried out in the DIgSILENT Powerfactory flow program for two variants of load curves and for different sensitivity factors. The calculation results demonstrate improvement of the MV distribution system’s operating conditions and the essence of the problem of selecting the appropriate grid reconfiguration algorithm sensitivity.
