Abstract

Continuous development of ICT systems, especially industrial Ethernet networks, allows for the deployment of distributed sensory networks to control and monitor the instantaneous performance of power infrastructure in industrial plants. While considering the specifics of some industry sectors, their production cycle, expected product quality, and timely deliveries, it is necessary to optimally use all means of production, especially energy, taking into account daily or annual peaks of its consumption. For this purpose, it becomes necessary to measure the machinery’s consumption of utilities, quality of manufactured products, and efficiency of production lines. This approach requires the use of non-standard solutions, in particular smart sensors and ICT systems. The paper presents a comprehensive solution dedicated to planning and monitoring production in modern unmanned factories 4.0.
